The Post-Modern Prometheus

Remember what I was talking about taking risks and trying new things? Well, this particular dress represents exactly what I was talking about. Last week, my grandma made it for herself to wear at home but as soon as I laid my eyes on it, I realised that with the right accessories and the right everything, I could turn this simple homey dress into something a bit more chic. For me, nothing says chic more than a good black pumps, a belt marking the waist high, some petticoat for an extra volume and a big sunglasses. I thought...maybe pearls, but then again... I thought it would look to obvious. Like I said, I'm wearing a dress made by my grandmother, Renner belt, Zara shoes, Opção sunnies and bracelets from H&M and some of them I made myself.

I have a confession to make, in the 90's I was a huge fan of a tv show called The X files, some may heard of it, some may even watched. And in fifth season, there is this episode called "The Post-Modern Prometheus" and it's all black and white with a comic book atmosphere, the whole episodes is all about one comic character, which the name I can not recall now, but he has this ability to dope women and have them pregnant while sing "Walking in Memphis" by Cher. So, all that being said, I really liked that episode and the whole black & white thing inspired me, I can't say it's THE SAME SAME, but it's close enough.

I cannot believe you stole your grandma's dress. Haha, I mean not technically stole, but still. She must be proud that her granddaughter thinks she's a grand designer ;)
